April 15th, 2024 (OR by end of May!)
We request that attendees arrive in "Semi-Formal" to "Smart Dressy Casual" style. For dresses, tea to full length is preferred. Strapless dresses may be accompanied by a shrug or shawl. Open toed sandals and shoes are all right— we won’t be spending too much time in the grass, so heels won’t sink in the dirt! 🙂 No head coverings are necessary during the wedding ceremony. No need to cover tattoos or remove facial piercings. There is air conditioning at St. John's & Five Points. We look forward to seeing you!
Excellent question! We encourage our attendees to search YouTube for Russian Orthodox ceremonies, but emphasize that this event is not to be intimidating for those unfamiliar with the faith. If you have questions, please contact us. 🙂 https://youtu.be/iWS7_31kDyw?si=xhIP50MGHsy-RbMQ PS- Please note that there is no clapping inside the church, but you may clap all you’d like during the reception! 🙂 https://www.theknot.com/content/eastern-orthodox-wedding-ceremony-rituals Please note: Seating will be limited, though we may include some spaces for those who need to be seated through the ceremony’s duration. Wear comfortable shoes & do let us know if you have questions! 😊
