Proposal Story

When telling this story, it is either super cute or funny, depending on which one of us would be telling it. About 6 months before proposing, Phillip started asking me to send him some rings that I like. I sent him a few but then realized I could actually design an engagement ring ring. I sent him the ring I designed and sat around wondering and patiently waiting. November came and he asked me again, I again resent the ring I designed. One day Phillip came to me and told me his mom was taking the kids for a weekend for us in the beginning of December because it would give us a chance to get some Christmas shopping started for them. Lucky for him, I can be totally oblivious and had no clue!! So on December 3rd to be exact, we dropped them off and went and ran a few errands and got dinner and went home. The next day, he asked what I wanted to do for dinner and we both just wanted to stay in and have a fire without children and just relax and actually hang out together without interrupting children. So we went to the store and got some steaks to grill. When we got home, Phillip went out and got the yard all done up, got the fire pit ready and then came in to prep for dinner. I realized that I didn’t see him eat anything, so I decided to get the block of pepper Jack cheese (Phillip’s favorite cheese) out of the fridge and started cutting it up so he had something to pick at while grilling. He turned to me and started asking me to get out of the kitchen. I of course argued and was saying to him I will get out but I was just finishing up getting his snack. He was persistent and I gave up and walked away complaining about how our kitchen isn’t small. I sat on the couch and he knelt down on his knee ( he’s done this millions of times so again, I’m oblivious) and gave me a kiss. He asked me if I would love him forever. I said of course I will. Then he said I guess you’ll have to marry me then. At first I rolled my eyes and said I guess so because he has told me a million times that he would marry me. It took me a second until I realized he had a ring box in his hand with the ring I designed. Then I started crying and obviously said yes! It was perfect. If Phillip is telling the story, he simply says he had to wait for me to stop cutting the cheese before he proposed.

For all the days along the way
