Phillip and I first met early spring of 2017 in our church LifeGroup. But, it wasn’t until a few months later when his brother and sister-in-law were bringing home a new baby when we met again. Phillip mentioned that he was taking food to them and asked if anyone would like to contribute. I decided to bake some cookies for him to take to them for an opportunity to make myself known. I was the only one to offer. Fast forward to July 23 when he finally got the courage to ask me out on our first date! We went to the Whitewater Center and chatted and listened to live music. From then on we were spending time together every couple of days.

We were away for the weekend with some friends, for Phillip’s birthday, when someone suggested “last” minute that we visit a nearby winery. Little did I know, that this “spontaneous” trip to the winery was instead planned weeks in advance! After enjoying a glass of wine, Phillip and I joined some friends in the vineyards to scope out a spot for another couple’s engagement shoot... or so I thought. We find the perfect spot and figure we’ll take a picture together since we’re there, next thing I know the love of my life is pulling out a ring and getting on one knee. It was better than I could have even thought up and the wonderful part is we have pictures and a video of the whole thing to look back on!
