We will be entering fair season come September 4th, so a yearly visit is a must! Phillip and I love to eat elote, elephant ears and cotton candy while we explore. Our favorite places to visit are all of the agriculture/livestock barns and we love to meet the 4-H dogs, cats, and horses. It will always be the Puyallup Fair to us!
Pike Place is worth the drive all the way up to Seattle if you haven't already been! It is full of arts/crafts, beautiful flower bouquets, fish, and, of course, our favorite: food! Phillip and I love to snack on candied pecans from Pike Place Nuts while we look at the variety of seafood and flowers. A ginger beer from Rachel's Ginger beer is always a must as well. Our favorite flavor is peach!
We will usually go to the Matador during happy hour (4:00 pm - 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm - 1:00 am) and we often share an order of the nachos while sipping on some sangria and beer. The Matador is located on Pacific Ave at the heart of the bar scene downtown. Phillip and I love to make our way over to Dorky's for some old-school video games after our drinks and nachos. Though we love the Matador so much, Phillip will always say his favorite place downtown is Red Hot on 6th Ave.
I am noticing a food trend here... Phillip and I love to eat together! Crockett's is one of our favorites for casual dining. Phillip will usually order one of their burgers or the chicken fried steak while I am always stuck between a waffle and the kale caesar salad (both so different, but so good!) If you have some extra time in the downtown Puyallup area (maybe before/after your trip to the fair?), definitely make it out to Crockett's!
Phillip and I love to come here to de-stress if the week has been particularly rough. We definitely prefer top-rope climbing over bouldering. Belaying each other always provides a fun trust exercise! They have auto-belays as well if you want to try top-rope climbing without a belayer.
