They say God is everywhere and in the middle of everything! I know that to be true because there is no other way that we could have been this blessed to meet online and be as successful as we are. Let's also talk about timing! I guess we both swiped right at the right time! I was so ready to be in a serious, meaningful relationship and he was tired of all the games single people play! Upon 1st sight, we were hooked and we have never left each others side after that day! Well never more than 24 hours. I often joke Phillip about going weak in the knees when we first met. All I know is his knees buckled, I thought he had tripped or something. He tried to play it off. Later on he would reveal that upon first sight he knew he was going to make me his wife and the feeling was so overwhelming that it made him weak in the knees! When people say that a man goes after what he really wants and that people make time for what they want to make time for. It so true! From day one we made time for me and made each other a priority. We listened to each other and we vowed early on to take care of one another and to heal each other from previous relationship scares. I think for me it was that first sincere look and that first touch. Isn't it amazing when you can feel how someone feels about you through one touch and one look! That feeling has not changed in 3 years.
Oh and what about the proposal! The day started of a little sad because it was the day that we visit my father's grave annually! My whole family was there. I had no idea that my sister and brother-in-law were in on this proposal. While we were all gathered at the table to share stories of my father, he keeps asking about telling his story. I'm getting a little agitated because I felt that he didn't know my father well enough to tell a story. So my Sister and Brother-in-law say "let him tell his story". So I embellish him. OMG! This guy starts talking about this lady with these big pink boxes. The lady keeps opening boxes and gets down to the last box and opens it, the pin falls out and it hits the table making a noise like "pink, pink, pink." If you are confused, you are not alone! So was the whole family and then he says "You don't understand, let me demonstrate" He pulls out all of these boxes. Then he has me open up one box after another box, until I get down to the final box and it is a small engagement box. I am stunned and so full of joy! Tears....Oh he got me! It was so perfect and to have my family there was amazing for me! Of course, I said yes on November 9, 2019. He was able to take a day of mourning and make it a day full of joy! These corky little ways are why I love him so much! Mr. Gordon is my ride or die for life! I can't wait to begin this journey with the love of my life and my best friend! It's finally happening!
