Well sort of kidding...we do have a mutual friend to thank. One of Peter's long-time friends, Rosty, made the brave migration with his family from LA to the OC back in 2020, when he took a job at a new law firm in Irvine. Over the course of time, he met Shannon, and became a friend to her as well, and over the years, she struck him as a very kind and genuine person. Peter would go visit Rosty down in Orange from time to time and share with him his dating "adventures" (hey, it is rough out there!) Meanwhile, at work, Shannon would share her dating adventures with Rosty as well. Then, one day it struck Rosty (or perhaps he was just tired of all the whining) that Shannon and Peter should meet. Finally, an opportune time came...Peter called Shannon and left a voicemail about taking her on a date in Newport Beach. She called back and said yes. They met at the Newport Landing at 4:30 pm on a Friday, and it was a magical first date - fun, adventurous, romantic, and lots of good conversations. Peter walked her back to her car around midnight, and they decided before they left each other that there would be a second date. There were quite a few more dates after that, and they began to realize that they could be themselves with each other, laugh, talk about anything, work through things well, and that they were aligned in values and faith. And that led them to this special day...
