Best Man
My role model. My big buddy. My dad. If you know me, you know my dad is also my best friend. He's always there when I need him and he's always put family first. Whether it was indian guides when I was litte, to shared Clemson football games, or to travelling Croatia, Italy, and Spain together in my 30s, we always have enjoyed amazing adventures together. I can't wait for my wedding to be my next one!

Carlos is my Spanish brother, and also happens to be my brother-in-law as well! Firstly, Carlos is a awesome husband and father - which would be enough. But Carlos and I have an awesome friendship outside of just family. We bonded early (and often) over our love and competitive spirt on FIFA (soccer video game), but generally enjoy a laugh, talking sports, all things sci-fi and fantasy, or just appreciating the little things in life - like ribs!

"So cold on watch ain't it" "Just keep the horizon level and I think we'll be alright" These were the first lines Dave and I had in the play Titanic in highschool as the crow's nest first mates. David was my first guy friend at Leesville and introduced me to the rest of the 'group' - way back when I was taller than him! Predictably, we became fast friends. David and I have memories from all over the world, from Cancun, to Spain, to Switzerland, Dave has been there - and that is true whether near or far - and as one of the nicest guys I know - has always been there for me. Dave pours his heart and soul into everything he does, and our friendship is no different. Boop boop!

Matt Boone! Hot Dog Man! Once upon a time, Matt was just Dave's older brother, but over the years we became the bestest of friends as well. That tends to happen when you are roommmates for 4 years! We definitely had our run of the ultimate bachelor pad. But don't let Matt fool you with his talk and 'swagger' - he may be the biggest softie of all of them. When we lived together, I would often come home from a long day of work to a home cooked meal with a big glass of milk! Matt is sneaky thoughtful and kind, and always has a way of keeping things interesting. Few people know this, but every couple weeks while I was living in Switzerland, I would get a text from Matt that simply said 'I miss you.' He's even a good sport about me beating him in FIFA all the time!

Burch Master Flex has been one of my best friends since high school. Timber Tyler would always be the driver as we scooted around Raleigh and I would be the navigator - in charge of the tunes of course. We're also the nerds of the group - routinely catching matinees of the latest sci fi and fantasy movies. These days you'll find us cycling through the woods or enjoying a foodie meal with our better halves. If you've seen the movie Gladiator, then you'll be familar with Tyler and I's handshake - "Strength and Honor!" This may be one of best phrases to describe Tyler, who shows his character as a man by the way he loves the Lord, stands up for what is right, and is always willing to loan out his hardwork to his friends.

Believe it or not, I knew Timmy before he really was a golfer... that’s a looong time. Like most of the guys, Timmy and I became best friends in high school - whether beaching it for spring break or ballin on the court. This is a pretty good description of Tim, either completely chillin, or playing to win! And this is also a great description of our friendship to this day - it’s never difficult w Tim - we’re either kickin it in the yard, catching a playoff Canes game, or hustling kids on some corn hole or on the kickball field. I just know better than to get my ass kicked on the golf course!

Milanski lived down the hall from me my freshmen year at Clemson. He thought I was soft and full of myself. He was probably right. But we joined the same fraternity and after 4 years of many crazy road trips, football games, and college nights, we were the closest of friends - he made me a little more humble and a little more tough, and I might’ve made him a little nicer. ;p Milano lives in Nashville now, and whether near or far, long time or short, we always pick up where we left off. Although admittedly these days it’s more likely to be early morning bloody Mary’s and hours of porch conversation over a few beers than late nights out. But some things never change, like best friends and Clemson football! Go tigers!

When Brandon and I first met, I made sure to wear my Clemson shirt so that he, as an Alabama fan, knew where we stood. :P Brandon simply said he expected nothing less. Brandon is Whitney's brother-in-law and has been a part of the family so long (Lindsey and him were HS sweethearts!) that he really is a brother to her. More than that, Brandon has been cool and welcoming to me from day 1, and was just an easy guy to become friends with. I'm super thankful that he, Larry, and I can hang and talk 'guy stuff' at all the family events. And when it comes to Clemson and Alabama, well, game recognizes game.

Surprise! AJ and I also became best friends in high school. I mean who wouldn't have wanted to with his jacked up jeep! But AJ and I have become even better friends as we have become adults, and probably my favorite thing about AJ is how witty and funny he is! He always cracks me up and somehow you never see it coming. But more than just being funny, AJ is a great husband and father, and having done it first, has paved the way to show the rest of us how its done. One of the other things I really admire and enjoy about AJ is that hes confident in who he is. Whether its tending his vegetable garden, bird watching (read: squirrel shooting), or logging trees (true story), AJ invests and commits himself to what he does. And he's no different with his friends. Plus, he has that cool jeep again!
