It's a tiny island off the coast of China (and it's not Thailand. That's a different country).

How did he propose?

Answer

Philip invited both our families over for dinner at the end of September (he's an excellent cook!) and when I followed him into the kitchen to help with dishes, he actually brought me out on the back porch with his guitar and played me a song he had written for me (he's also an excellent musician) before asking me to marry him. Needless to say, I was inconsolably happy. ;)

Answer

We're having a very simple reception with coffee, cake, and appetizers, so never fear; we'll have plenty of alternative options (dairy, gluten, and soy-free).
