We're getting married

Madi and Philip met in 2018 at the University of Kansas when they lived on the same dorm floor. What started as a shared friend group quickly turned into a close friendship that carried into sophomore year — when they ended up living just three houses apart! Over time, their friendship naturally grew into something more. Madi and Philip officially started dating on February 15, 2019. After college, their paths took them to different cities. Madi continued her education at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Wauwatosa, while Philip started his career as a graphic designer in Kansas City. What followed was four years of long distance, countless FaceTime calls, and Philip faithfully making the nine-hour drive once a month to see Madi. Along the way, they also adopted an Amazon milk frog named Skim, a panther chameleon named Mort, and Madi adopted Philip's bearded dragons Sahara and Osiris. In December 2025, Madi and Philip traveled to Germany to spend Christmas with Philip’s mom in Stuttgart. Despite the freezing cold temperatures, Philip proposed in the gardens of Ludwigsburg Palace, turning this special trip into one they’ll never forget. This spring, Madi will graduate from medical school and begin the next chapter of her journey in residency — where that will be, they’ll find out together on Match Day, March 20, 2026. No matter where life takes them next, Madi and Philip are excited to face it side by side, with love and laughter.
