The story of Limya and Phil starts the week before they met. Phil was headed to a music festival (Moonrise) with some friends, and Limya had just moved to Baltimore from Arizona for her first nursing job. Phil and Limya matched on a dating app (Bumble please sponsor us), but never connected because Phil had his phone stolen at that same music festival. One of the first things Phil did when he got a replacement phone was redownload Bumble (priorities… right?). He saw he had matched with Limya, but the match had already expired, so the app didn’t allow him to message her back. He was, understandably, distraught. Meanwhile, Limya, in typical Limya fashion, quickly made friends (Maddie and Steph), and they took her out to some bars in Federal Hill, starting at a local tiki bar at Wayward Bar & Grill. As luck would have it, Phil and his friends (Jackson and Ayden) had the same idea that night. They made their way to the outdoor portion of the bar, and to his surprise, Phil spotted Limya. He immediately recognized her as the “girl from Bumble with red hair.” He noticed her talking animatedly with her friends, pointing in his direction, and then starting to walk toward him. He was thrilled and immediately thought, “Guys, she totally recognizes me!” Feeling confident, he started to walk toward her to say hello. Fortunately... she walked right past him. At the last moment, it became very clear that she did not infact recognize him and had no intention of talking to him. Phil, now confused and slightly dejected, still decided to go for it. He walked up to her, tapped her on the shoulder, and introduced himself. Limya, unsurprisingly, was shocked. She immediately questioned why he was talking to her if he had never messaged her back on Bumble. Phil, completely caught off guard by both her directness and her beauty, stood there in silence, staring at her dumbfounded. Limya broke the silence by saying, "Well, are you going to keep staring at me, or are you going to buy me a drink?". And that's how their love story began!! As it turns out, a stolen phone, an expired Bumble match, a fun group of friends, and a little bit of fate were exactly what it took to get them in the same place at the same time—no app required. From that moment on, they never needed one again.
