In April 2024 during a night out for drinks with his cousin and clinical instructor, Phil met one of Chelsey's friends who claimed to have the perfect person for him. He was a little hesitant at first but once hearing more about Chelsey, he decided it was worth taking her number and reaching out that night. After a couple weeks of texting in between very busy travel schedules, we finally met for coffee on a Friday morning at Starbucks, both sneaking away from work. It was clear within the first few minutes that this was no ordinary date. We had so much in common especially our faith in God, our love for the cape, and the importance of family. We both left knowing that this was different, and there was something special about the other. We spent the summer getting to know each other and going on fun dates around the city, including Phil working miracles to surprise Chelsey with Noah Kahan tickets at Fenway. Fast forward to June 11, 2025 and 141 dates later, Phil proposed at the beach in Dennisport, in the same spot where Chelsey first told him "I'm going to marry you".
