Aaron Sabio has been a father figure to Philip since he entered high school. He has faithfully poured into Philip’s life, mentoring and encouraging him as he has grown in his walk with God and in ministry. Aaron is a devoted husband, a constant source of wisdom and support, and—when he’s not investing in people—you’ll probably find him dominating the court as a beast at both pickleball and volleyball.

Esau is a devoted father who has been by Philip’s side since day one. He has consistently invested in Philip’s growth, helping train him in Jiu-Jitsu while always encouraging him to pursue and reach his goals. Through his support, discipline, and belief in Philip, Esau has been a steady source of strength and motivation.
Samuel Alcaraz

Samuel is Philip’s oldest brother, and their bond has been shaped by a shared love for Padres games and time spent surfing together. Samuel has played a key role in Philip’s life, teaching him how to play baseball and passing down both skills and memories that have strengthened their relationship over the years.
Gabe Hernadez

Gabe Hernandez has faithfully walked alongside Philip in ministry for many years. It has been a joy to serve together, do life together, and navigate both the challenging and rewarding seasons side by side. Through every high and low, Gabe has remained a loyal, steady, and encouraging friend to Philip. He also shreds at drums with Bethany as she plays keys for worship at Calvary Vista. Jo Nation

Jo Nation has been one of Philip’s most faithful friends since Bible college. He has consistently encouraged Philip to step boldly into his calling in ministry and has faithfully prayed for Philip’s future wife for over four years. When Jo heard that Bethany had come into Philip’s life, he was overjoyed to see God answer those prayers and celebrate this meaningful season in Philip’s journey.
Spencer Pederson

Spencer is Philip's soon-to-be brother-in-law. He first met Philip in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, teaching him how to serve a volleyball in the backyard of their childhood home. Spencer’s humor and joyful spirit make it impossible not to laugh when spending time with him. He and his wife, Hailey, love to travel and share a deep passion for Jesus, always ready to help anyone in need. You can catch Spencer and Philip on the disc golf course together.
Daniel Pederson

Daniel Pederson is one of the kindest people Philip has ever met, and he’s grateful to soon call him his brother-in-law. Daniel was the first Pederson Philip met, during a road trip to Mount Shasta in 2020. They quickly bonded over their shared love for youth ministry and passion for teaching God’s Word. Daniel is not only an amazing father of two but also a talented chef, bringing the same care and creativity to the kitchen as he does to mentoring students in faith.
Rachel Urbina

Rachel and I (Bethany) met through serving on worship teams together in 2017. Rachel is a wonderful mother, wife, and gifted worship leader. Both she and her husband have made a profound impact on Philip's and my life over the years. We love the Urbina family! Rachel's husband, Jamie, was my young adults pastor during my earlier years in California. It was through a young adults study that the Lord spoke to me about returning home to restore and build relationships with my family in Michigan. For me personally, Rachel is one of the strongest women of faith I know, as I have watched her heart stay tender and yet so resolved to love the Lord even through prolonged seasons of suffering. Rachel has been a faithful friend, voice of truth, and sweet encouragement to me through the years. We are so honored to have her stand as the Matron of Honor in our wedding!
Bryn Hebert

Bryn is a sweet, long time friend of mine from CA! She is an amazing wife and a mom to two precious boys - they love baseball! Bryn encouraged me to begin playing keys for worship for young adults and women's ministry years ago, and thus began one of the most special ministries I have been able to serve in since. Also fun fact, Bryn's husband, Alex, was Philip's jr. high pastor at Calvary Vista. It is sweet to see it all come full circle as Philip is now overseeing jr. high! Bryn and I LOVE the one year Bible and exchanged our daily notes for a couple years. This has been one of my favorite parts of our friendship. She has been a sister in Christ through many seasons - she was one of the few long distance friends from CA I kept in touch with while being home in Michigan. Love you, Bryn!

Hailey! My sweet sister-in-law. Hailey (and Kaylee ) are an answer to my prayers as a young girl for a sister. 🤍 I remember right away connecting with her when she was dating Spencer. Her sweet smile and genuine kindness melted away all the normal hesitations in bringing someone new home to the family. When I think of Hailey, I think of someone who is so compassionate and runs towards the hurting. She has a way of comforting others just by being around her. Some of my favorite memories with her are going for walks & talking around Mulberry circle, baking and shopping :), and spending time together in the ocean in Hawaii. She is an amazing hostess, incredibly generous, loves serving others, and has been a deep encouragement to me in the Lord through the years. She also writes the most thoughtful cards - I never throw hers away haha. We also love her family from Wisconsin! I love you Hailey Marie!

SIS! Kaylee is my amazing sister-in-law who brings so much joy and laughter to our family. The Lord knew we needed her. 🤍 We love her family in Hawaii too, and we’ve made such special memories together as a family because of her Hawaiian roots. She is an incredible mama to my two nephews, Tobias and Levi, and watching her love and lead them is such a blessing. Kaylee also has a beautiful gift in leadership—whether she’s planning events, leading a time of worship, or bringing our family together intentionally. What I appreciate so deeply about her is her honesty and her willingness to share openly about her life and what the Lord is teaching her. Because of that, I’ve already learned so much from her as a wife and a mom. I’m so excited for our families to continue growing together in this next season. Yay for cousin time (Lord willing, soon!). 🤍
Shawna Scheibel

Shawna and I met at Disney Land in 2016- the perfect place to meet a best friend! She and her husband Ryan planted a church in Idaho in 2020- and life has been an adventure for them! They have 4 precious kiddos. Shawna has been a strong voice of truth and encouragement to me in ways that only the Lord will know. Shawna is the friend that always calls at just the right time and knows exactly what to say. She has stood by me as a sister in Christ through heartbreak, grief, and major life transitions, always encouraging me to take big steps of faith. Our calls frequently turn into hours long conversations spent in prayer for each other and shared love for the Lord. Shawna was the first one to know that Philip was in the picture :) and she walked me through some of the early stages of our relationship. Philip and I are both very grateful to her for how she lovingly counsels and honestly helped keep our relationship on track at the beginning (haha). When I think of Shawna, I think of God's grace and mercy to bring such a beautiful friend into my life. I always tell her she got the short end of the stick in our friendship because I feel that she has poured out way more than she has received. I love you, Shawna!

Angelina is Philip’s twin sister! Philip and Angelina share an amazing brother-sister relationship that I’ve loved watching and am so grateful for. I am so excited to be sisters! She is amazing with kids and youth, and loves Jesus🤍. She is real, quick-witted, and does everything wholeheartedly. Angelina is currently studying to become a nurse - which we all believe she will become floor manager one day because of her strong leadership and relational skills - she is definitely someone you would want taking care of you. Angelina was at the bridal shop when I said "yes" to the dress! A special memory for us for years to come. Love you, Angie!

Miss Savannah! Where do I start. She is wise beyond her years. She sings like an angel. She is servant-hearted, bright, and SO sweet to be around. I've gotten to know Savannah during the past few years and she has quickly become like a younger sister to me. I believe she could change the world with her heart for worship and the Lord🤍 Having her stand in our wedding is such an honor to both Philip and I because we LOVE the Barsh family - and actually all their extended family (like everyone does haha). Savannah's dad, Rick, has been a father-figure to Philip for quite some time. I personally am so thankful for his investment in Philip through the years. I got to know Savannah before I knew Philip well. Putting all the pieces together and finding out that we already knew and loved their family was really special for us. Savannah is a GEM and such a special friend. I'm so thankful for you, Savannah.
