The Wedding Website of Philip Gebauer and Arlen Calderin
Millbrook is a small town but, if you know where to look, there are plenty of options. And for a small town in upstate, NY it's not that difficult to get to. We know some of you are travelling a long distance so we wanted to make this as painless and relaxing as possible -- like this picture here! Relaxing... Now let's get down to business.

Travel Note

Driving

If you decide to rent in a car in NYC and drive to Millbrook, it will take you about 1 hour and 40 minutes, depending on traffic (which means day and time of day). If you would like some advice on that, we are happy to give it. If you plan on being in Millbrook or the Duchess County area overnight, we suggest you have a car. You will need one to get around. The area is not Uber/Lyft friendly (too remote for now). Click the "VIEW" button below to get a sense of the route. Travelling up the Taconic Pkwy is ideal as it is not only faster (most days) but also picturesque. Also, get a GPS from the rental company (or bring one with you). Unless your phone is a Verizon, you will not always have great service (almost guaranteed you won't have coverage when you need it most - that's how it works).

Train

Metro North

If you are inclined to stay in New York City for the weekend and only want to come up to Millbrook just in time for the ceremony, you are welcome! There are trains leaving every two hours from Grand Central to Dover Plains on Saturday October 6, 2018. The schedule for October is not yet published (click link for details). From month to month, the schedules change only slightly. There is currently a Saturday train departing Grand Central at 1:10PM and arriving in Dover Plains at 3:34PM. For scheduling purposes, times for this train will change slightly between now and October but not significantly. Note: For those who come on this train, we will have a shuttle bus for you at Dover Plains (ONLY). Let me know if you plan on taking this train so that the bus is of appropriate size and that driver (or someone in the wedding party) can have your name on a list. There is only 1 local taxi and it's not always on duty. We will have a shuttle bus back to the train after the reception.

Benton and visited frequently in that time by Twain, Thoreau, and Emmerson (and many years later by Sinclair Lewis and Ernest Hemingway) -- also boasts a premier farm-to-table restaurant and many other amenities. 12 Minutes to Church and 8 Minutes from reception at Tamarack.
