We believe in a thing called love

Angelina and Phil were two individuals destined to meet each other. However, either Destiny was not very efficient, or Phil and Lina were not picking up on her signs. Over their three years of dating, they have come to realize there were several points that put them in the same place at the same time. Whether it was a college party (Nacho Fest) hosted by his brother, or a CMU Beach Party, or a wedding they both attended. The two of them have had a fun time realizing all their missed connections. The most significant of these missed opportunities was at a Cadillac Trio show. Phil and Lina were both attending the country concert with friends, at different points each person caught the other's eye, but both were too nervous to approach the other. Finally, Destiny leveraged technology and linked the two together. First dates were spent at downtown Lansing brunch spots, and Harry Potter marathons.

Angelina and Phil had the chance to take their first official vacation together in Colorado, travelling alongside his brother Brian and his wife Elizabeth. Phil had the entire proposal mapped out in his head. To avoid forgetting, or having Lina find the ring while packing Phil sent the ring out to Colorado with his brother. After the two couples enjoyed time on their own, they had plans to meet up in the mountains, they had planned on a hike, where Phil had hoped to find a beautiful landscape to take Lina aside and pop the question. Lina and Phil's first few days were spent together in downtown Denver. The city was fantastic, but as soon as the plane landed Phil realized he was going to have a difficult time waiting 3 days to meet up with Brian to get the ring and propose. Angelina began to notice Phil was acting very strange, and not himself. He tried to blame the elevation, and the fact the hotel they were staying at was haunted, but in reality he was just ready to drop to a knee and ask her to spend her life with him. Finally they made the trip out to the mountains. Unfortunetly, Phil could not wait till their hike the next day, and as soon as luggage hit the floor he was forcing everyone out the door "take a walk around the resort." Thankfully, the resort had a beautiful pond, and Phil led the group in a rapid pace that direction. The sun was setting as they got to a deck overlooking the water, a man with a guitar started to strum and sing a love song. Phil realized this was as good of a time as any, and if he waited any longer she'd really start to question why he was being so strange (more than usual). Phil gave the sign to his brother and sister-in-law and took Lina over to the edge of the deck and asked if she would marry him. After she said yes, a few families on the other side of the water applauded as the two of them kissed with the sun setting behind the mountains.
