Both of us can still remember ‘butterflies at first laugh’ on the beloved ACE unit (although he doesn’t believe me). Hint: Listen to his song ‘Maybe, Right Now’ for this moment! From that day on, we were BEST friends. A few years had gone by, and both of us had gone through major difficult life changes in that time. We remained each others’ daily dose of laughter and strength. We both think it was God’s timing waiting to pull the trigger on our love story. He was shaping each of us and our lives to fit! Attending wedding season for friends kicked off our own romance; for we shared our first kiss outside our now to be wedding venue! (A notable detail here is that the kiss wasn’t discussed for another week between us, ha!) Fast forward to engagement time… How could I have asked for a more perfect proposal? In case you don’t know the story… Background: Phil made a bench for the boys once, and spray painted it including their section they sat in as a remembrance token. Upon showing me, I randomly spit out the ‘L’ word (Likely interrupting him in doing so😆). The day: I knew it was THE day; for he arranged beautification for me the day prior, I just didn’t know the plan. We ate at the same restaurant in which I had first met the boys, then Phil took me on a surprise beautiful country drive. Suddenly we turn into some random driveway, & I see a beautiful lake area where a hot air balloon awaits us. Wowza! He leads me behind a mini lighthouse… I’m hit with the sight of that now magical bench repainted to say will you marry me? (Writing this doesn’t even feel like my real life right now holy smokes! The Notebook anyone?)
