Hannah and I met in Thailand during dinner at a yearly teaching conference. I thought Hannah was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen, and a friend “forced” me to sit at the same table as her. I honestly didn't say much! After we left Thailand, Hannah returned to China, and I returned to Cambodia. I couldn't shake the desire to reach out to her, and I wanted to see where things could go. So, I did what any millennial would do; I slide into the DMs on Instagram. We talked for a little while. Then, we stopped messaging for about three months. After those three months, Hannah sent me a message, and we have talked every day since then. It started with just one message a day (seriously, one), and eventually, we started talking on FaceTime. It was so much fun to get to know each other. I was able to travel to China to visit Hannah and her family, and she was able to travel to Cambodia to see my school and meet my students. Our relationship has been mostly long distance, and although there were times when that was hard, I know we wouldn’t change a thing about our story.
