Phil and Audrey met in dental school—bonding over an unexpected twist of fate in their first summer class of dental school. Their friendship began there, with Audrey testing out first and Phil proudly giving her a well-deserved standing ovation. Their first unofficial date was an ambitious 8-mile walk/run (a bold choice considering Audrey was a Division I collegiate runner and Phil had never run voluntarily in his life). Soon after came their first official date: sushi and thrift shopping, where they attempted (unsuccessfully) to keep their relationship a secret after running into classmates. Phil knew he had found the one the night before finals during their second year, when Audrey paused her own studying to bake him a strawberry cake—proving that love (and baked goods) really can get you through dental school.
