Disney Magic

"It's that can't eat, can't sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, World Series kind of love."

Shortly after I, Phelan, moved to Florida in 2010 to work for Walt Disney World, I began to get the bug to play softball again. While mentioning this desire to a work friend, he said that he knew someone looking for women to add to his Disney Cast Softball co-ed team. What good luck for me! It turns out this "someone" was Quinlan. The rest is history: a history of friends, turned best friends, turned romantic relationship and now future husband and wife! Our solid relationship has the strong foundation of our friendship to keep us steady especially during the early days when we began as a long distance couple, to running head long into being together, in Florida for the first time as a couple, a few months before the pandemic started and traversing this new world and relationship together. As if it was even possible, we became even closer. Loyal, understanding, patient, honest. Qualities that were the foundation of our friendship grew in different ways in 2020. We found joy in the little moments: going on family walks which was especially wonderful with Quinlan's daughters Katy and Quinn, celebrating and decorating for every single holiday imaginable, traveling to Michigan and introducing Quinlan to the magical world of Mackinac and the wonderful experience of my niece and goddaughter, Gia or as I affectionately call her "Smush", spending time at his wonderful godparents' lake house when we needed a break from all things cov*d, Joe Bob Briggs and the Last Drive-In, "Bond and a Beverage" and other various movie marathons, Coast to Coast Halloween Horror Nights, camping, home projects, more cast co-ed softball, new jobs, baking/cooking adventures and so much more. Though we share joy in many things together, our differences help keep us balanced and grounded! We have both been blessed with warm loving families and sharing them with each other has brought us even greater joy! Quinlan's parents have become my home-away-from-home parents and great companions and Quinlan has joined the Trash TV Tuesday "TTT" club that began with myself and my siblings, Preem, Remo and Jim when I lived in Michigan and when you join that club, you're a lifer. Our time knowing each other has been nothing short of memorable and we are very excited to make this commitment and celebrate with you all! We can't wait to see what the future holds for us as we continue our lives together!
