Sam and Phannie met many years ago while still in significant relationships with others. After that day many more years passed until their paths crossed again. On the night they met at Mile High Spirits, Phannie was there with a date and Sam was there to see a musician friend perform. Sam spotted Phannie from across the room and was encouraged by his friend Michael to go and talk to her (he really didn’t need the encouragement). After chatting and re-connecting Sam gave Phannie his number in hopes he would see her again. After some texting and canceling of their first date they ended up at Stowaway, a beautiful little breakfast spot in RINO. Phannie, having just come from Bikram yoga was STARVING and requested that Sam not speak to her until after she’d had some food, he had been speaking a mile a minute. He quickly ordered some fruit bread to the table and all was well to continue the date. They finished their first date with a tour of the building Sam was living in and managing, including the basement (where Phannie considered might be where she’d get murdered, but took the risk anyway). A few more dates and the two were locked in, spending as much time together as they could… for the first several years Phannie spent much of her time with Sam at the building. Once the pandemic hit they finally moved in together and that was enough to seal the deal for Sam. He ended up proposing over Phannie’s southern Colorado birthday road trip at a beautiful hot springs, after she said yes the heavens blessed them with a shooting star! They had their first round of covid weddings, summer 2021. Signing the papers at the building on Aug 20th, having a backyard wedding at Sam’s childhood home Sept 4th and to finish off the wedding tour, a Winfield wedding with Phannie’s extended rat family on September 17th. They are now so excited to include their Denver tribe in the celebration of their marriage and life together.
