Our story started in 2018, on a spring night filled with dim sum, friends-of-friends, and absolutely no clue that the two of us would end up where we are today. Christina was out with friends, getting late night dimsum. And Kevin? Kevin was dragged along by his cousin, Caitlin. We shared a table without sharing a single spark. Just dimsum. Delicious, uneventful dimsum. Life moved on, and Christina became good friends with Kianna — Kevin’s younger sister — which meant our worlds kept casually brushing past each other. In 2019, our college schedules aligned and pulled us into the same orbit. We started sharing the same classes, the same academic fraternity, and the same friend groups. We weren’t just classmates — we became each other’s study buddy, snacking accomplice, and gaming partner. In 2020, our paths led us to both working internships at the same company. Before we could start on our first day, COVID-19 put the world on lockdown. We ended up being some of the only interns allowed on-site. With empty hallways and quiet lunch breaks, our friendship made being together something comforting and fun — simple as that. In the Spring of 2021, Kevin decided to make a move and in true pandemic-era fashion, he used the power of FaceTime to ask Christina out. She said yes… and we’ve been choosing each other ever since.
