To really understand OUR story we have to go all the way back to 2006. We were in the same kindergarten class at Delaney Elementary. From there, life seemed to keep weaving our paths together: attending Kennedale ISD all the way through senior year, church, youth group, and mutual friends, . We were always orbiting the same spaces, somehow always close... but never quite close enough. Even when we both ended up at the same college — Go Mean Green! — we never crossed paths. Maybe something (or someone) was still tying the last few loops of an invisible string that had been connecting us since we were five. Then one day, after OU’s softball team won their fourth straight national title (because of course it had to be that moment), Tanner posted on Instagram about the win. As a fellow Sooner fan, I hesitated and skipped a couple of stories over but returned to his to send a simple message of: “BOOMER” He replied, exactly as he should: “SOONER” And just like that, something clicked. It was effortless, familiar — like coming home to a place we didn’t know we’d missed. From that first message, we both felt it: this wasn’t just a coincidence. It was the beginning of the best chapter yet. The invisible string that had quietly tugged us together all these years had finally pulled tight — and neither of us has let go since.
