We met in highschool, Tanner was a junior and Peyton was senior. We locked eyes in the lunchroom of Carl Sandburg High school, and through mutual friends, Tanner ended up as Peyton’s prom date and from there, we’ve been inseparable ever since.

We planned a trip to Nashville, Tennessee with our closest friends to compete in a Spartan Race. Tanner had been planning with our friend Grace for months without giving Peyton even a hint. Only Tanner, his mom, Grace, and Peyton’s dad knew he was gonna propose on this trip to Nashville. After a long 6 mile race, Tanner sprinted ahead to the finish line(to retrieve the ring from our friend Aidan) and as Peyton crossed the finish line just minutes later, Tanner got down on one knee and after 6 years together asked Peyton to marry him.
