Our Life So Far

Climbing, Dogs & Adventure

We meet in 2019, fell fast for each other & the rest is history! Our three years together have been full of highs and extreme lows. We bought a van together and built it out ourselves for a whole year and we also lost Mary Rafferty, Mark's Mum, in February 2021 after 8 month battle with cancer. Losing Mary changed the direction of our lives and inspired us to get out for a bit. So with our van, and our two dogs Cú & Niah, we moved to the road life and have been full-time in the van since January 2021. We both have pre-medical degrees and have decided to go back to school to become travel nurses. Getting to work in the medical field, live in our van with the dogs & climb as much as possible is the next step for our future! We are so excited to see where life takes us as Mr. & Mrs. Rafferty!

Our Rings

Rocks, Rocks, Rocks

As most of you know, Mark and Peyton are big rock climbers! So when it came to talking about wedding rings they always mentioned each wanted something 'unique'. Well without the other one knowing they both set out to get their love the most unique ring they could think of, and they both thought of the same thing. Peyton decided to grab a giant rose quartz from the gully of Spire 8 & 9 in the Cathedral Spires while she and Mark were on a hike in Custer State Park. She sent it to a company that made a wedding band for Mark out of titanium & used the rose quartz for the inlay of the band. Mark grabbed a hand full of rocks from the top of Little Devils Tower in Custer State Park while he & Peyton were on a hike. He dug around and picked out a tourmaline rock for the stone of her ring. He made the band from copper and used electroforming to weld the stone to the band. It is so fun that they both thought of a similar thing, and got to create the most unique and special rings!
