How we met

From waitress to wedding

Jeremy was a regular at my family’s restaurant. We met a few times before, as I knew his parents before I knew him. Eventually, Jeremy began to come in during every one of my shifts. Little by little, he would stay later and later and would even walk me to my car. After his many attempts to get me to hang out with him and his friends, and the countless times I turned him down, his persistence paid off. We hung out one time and the rest was history.

The proposal

A trip to Philadelphia

We were looking for something to do during the holidays, when Jeremy planned a trip to Philadelphia. The spontaneous trip had me thinking, is this the time he’s going to propose? Out of excitement, I immediately called my best friend to tell her I was getting engaged. She kindly talked me off the ledge, and for the next month helped me to stay levelheaded. When we got to Philadelphia, we took a trip to the Christmas village. I was on edge the entire time. Jeremy made a reservation for dinner, so we headed there next. Towards the end of dinner, I mentioned that I was tired. And Jeremy said we could just go back to the hotel. This made me think, did I get excited for no reason? I asked Jeremy, “ what about the next activity?” And he kindly said “ It doesn’t matter, we don’t have to go.” it was at that moment that I realized I jump to conclusions again 😅 I told Jeremy that we need to go to the next event, because he did plan this whole weekend. So off we went. He surprised me by taking me to Longwood Gardens, which has been a dream of mine to see. The entire time we were there, he kept trying to take me down different pathways that weren’t as crowded. to no avail, I continue to tell him no. Finally, we made it to the Christmas tree area. We stopped at several trees until finally making it to the biggest one there. It seemed as though the crowds of people had dissipated. At that time Jeremy asked to take a picture, so we snapped a selfie. As I began to walk away, I felt a tug on my jacket, and when I turned around Jeremy was on one knee. I was so shocked, that I was laughing hysterically. After he was done, asking me, and I answered yes! I walked away without the ring, 😂 Jeremy had to stop me and told me “ this is yours” wow handing me the most perfect ring I could imagine! He then told me to call my best friend because she knew the entire time! It was the most perfect proposal, and weekend I could ever imagine We celebrated for the rest of the night
