We've known each other since seventh grade in middle school. We hardly talked to each other back then, but we got to watch each other grow through band class and mutual friends. After middle school we both continued on with the band program at East High School and were both in the marching band by sophomore year where we continued to watch each other grow and began to get to know each other. Come the summer after junior year we were enjoying spending time with each other and new friends and on September 20, 2016 our relationship became official.
We both absolutely love The Cheesecake Factory, and by that we mean Liz loves The Cheesecake Factory; which is where the night started. We had a gift card to use up and had the night planned for a week or so to get food and scope out Christmas lights. After having dinner and, of course, the chocolate mousse cheesecake, we went up and drove around the Circle of Lights in Indianapolis. It was a bit hectic and there seemed to be random cars driving and stopping all over, but through the craziness we still managed to take in the beauty. And because of the craziness we decided not to park and walk around. We came back to downtown Columbus to do our walking and Christmas light-seeing. After snapping about a dozen pictures, we landed at the huge tree standing outside of City Hall where Liz insisted on finding good lighting behind the tree to snap a rare photo of the two of us. Once we got back around to the front, Nick got down on one knee, took out the ring, and asked the question, "Will you marry me?"
