After attending the same college at the exact same time and sharing plenty of mutual friends, Jake and Lila didn't officially meet until the summer of 2020 through those mutual friends. At the time, COVID was at its peak, and there honestly wasn't much to do besides drink in backyards with friends and order takeout. They spent the first few months as great friends before slowly realizing it was becoming something more. Lila loved how laid-back Jake was and could tell he was a genuinely good guy. Jake thought Lila was beautiful, kind, and a lot of fun to be around. After being somewhat forced into attending a wedding together "just as friends," they both started to realize there may have been more going on between them than they originally thought. In October of that same year, Jake officially asked Lila to be his girlfriend. Some of their favorite things to do include visiting Las Vegas and playing craps (Lila specifically prefers virtual craps), trying new sushi restaurants, taking Archie to the Quarry Trails dog park, going to the Grandview Movie Theater, and hosting game nights with friends. In April of 2022, after nearly two years of dating, they adopted their dog Archie, who quickly became the center of their little family and the light of their lives. On August 23, 2025, Jake told Lila they were grabbing brunch and spending the day with friends. Little did she know, it would be the day Archie’s parents made things official forever. After successfully hiding the ring in khakis beneath his basketball shorts and T-shirt so Lila wouldn't get suspicious (Jake DOES NOT dress up) , Jake led their friend group on a walk along the Scioto Mile. There, surrounded by friends and family, he got down on one knee and asked Lila to marry him. The rest is history, and they can't wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
