Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to conduct our wedding virtually! Our guests' health and safety are our top priority and we are so sad you won't be able to be with us for our big day! If you aren't able to join us on the 6th, fret not! We are having the wedding professionally recorded and will share that video with anyone that requests it! All our love, Taylor and Nick
While there was no defining moment of how we met, we like to think of our relationship as a collection of little moments leading up to the relationship. Nick was a cute redhead living a few doors down with an adorable little kitten named Abby and a full class load. We went to the beach with mutual friends and Nick helped Taylor remember to put on sunscreen and she realized the reclusive redhead had more to offer than just sun protection. A few months later, they went to a party and talked and laughed together all night. They were inseparable from that night on ❤️
Having been together 6 years at this point, Taylor and Nick knew they were destined for a lifetime of love. They were living apart, Taylor in Sarasota completing an apprenticeship and Nick doing 3 million different jobs in Gainesville. Somehow he found the time to give Taylor the perfect proposal. Now, to understand the true significance of this proposal, you need to go back in time just a little bit. First, it is worth noting Taylor and Nick absolutely adore the band, Lotus, and their song, "Marisol" is Nick and Taylor's loooooove song. It has no lyrics, it is just a mood (trust me). The second thing you need to know is that Nick DeRobertis DOES NOT SING. He will not sing for crowds or people, he will not sing in church 'neath steeple. He will not sing a catchy tune, he will not belt out, sing low, or croon. This used to drive Taylor CRAZY. Because, Taylor never stops singing and she is constantly making up parody lyrics. She had never in 6 years heard him sing and never stopped giving him grief about it. Okay, now that we have that established, the cuteness level of this story will increase tenfold. Back to the night of the 15th. Taylor left work in Sarasota and drove up to Gainesville to be with out of town friends and attend a wedding. She opened the door to 100 carnations and candles all over the house and Nick in a suit, looking positively DASHING. He built her a proposal website (www.taylorandnicklove.com) and scrolled down through photos and memories they shared together. At the end of the website, was Marisol playing softly. Nick got down on one knee and sang his own lyrics that he wrote to our song and asked Taylor to marry him....spoiler alert: SHE GLEEFULLY ACCEPTED.
