Where exactly in Italy are you getting married?

Answer

We are getting married in Italy on Lake Trasimeno! Passignano sul Trasimeno is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Perugia in the Italian region of Umbria, located about 13 miles northwest of Perugia. Our family will be staying in a villa here from Saturday June 8th - Saturday June 15th. We plan on taking day trips to different parts of Italy a few days before the wedding. The wedding reception will be held at this villa!

When and where is the wedding?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 13th at the Cortona Cathedral, which is about 20 miles from the villa. Cortona is a town in the province of Arezzo, in Tuscany, Italy. [FUN FACT: Cortona is where the movie Under the Tuscan Sun was filmed and it is the city the story line is based on!] The reception will be held after the ceremony at Villa San Crispolto, which is the villa that we have booked for the week. The villa is located around olive groves and overlooks Lake Trasimeno. We will have cocktail hour by the pool and then a sit down dinner outside, followed by a night of music and dancing! Get ready to drink A LOT of wine.

When should I arrive in Passignano Sul Trasimeno?

Answer

We would love for all of our guests to arrive or be present the evening of Wednesday, June 12th (the day before the wedding) for welcome festivities! We will also be hosting a brunch and pool party the day after the wedding so we can all relax after the big day. TIP: We suggest you end your Italian excursion with the wedding. After a week or so of sightseeing, I’m sure we could all use some r&r by the pool in the outskirts of Tuscany!
