Stop at Multnomah Falls
Drive I-84 from Portland and pull off for Oregon's most iconic waterfall. A short walk gets you to the bridge overlook. It's gorgeous!
Visit the Fruit Loop
A 35-mile scenic drive through orchards and vineyards with Mt. Hood as your backdrop. Don't miss wine tasting at Phelps Creek, Marchesi Vineyards, and Stave & Stone. Plenty of U-Pick fruit and flower spots here as well. September is harvest season with fresh apples and pears.
Hike the Columbia River Gorge
Wahclella Falls (an easy 1.8-mile loop) is a scenic hike for all levels; Coyote Wall offers bigger views and a bigger challenge.
Watch the Windsurfers
Hood River is the windsurfing capital of the world. While it won't be peak wind season, you can head to the Waterfront Park to watch the action, grab a bite from the food trucks, and take in the river views.
Explore Downtown Hood River
Walkable, charming, and full of local shops, coffee, and great restaurants.
