I never believed in "fate", "destiny", or "soul mates" but once I met Robert I knew there was something special between us that would never go away. Both of our families are from California and little did we know how closed we live to one another without ever meeting. How many times our paths may have crossed without us even knowing, to him living just a few miles from our family lake house, to my fathers old coworker being Roberts little league coach, and then our families both moving to Duluth, Ga in 1999. If that was not the universe trying to pull us together, I don't know what else to call this. After both going to the same high school in Duluth, not really interacting with one another, other than a few mutual friends, we met officially when our friend came home from boot camp after joining the Navy and he brought me over to Roberts house he shared with his room mates so they could catch up and we immediately just clicked. Couple weeks later, Robert invites me to his house for his New Years Eve party and that night we shared our first kiss at midnight and have never been apart since. Fourteen years later, my best friend asks me to be his Wife and I couldn't be more honored!
