We're getting married!

We were both living in the Wausau area when we met on the dating app, Bumble. Our first date was at Sconni's Alehouse on August 16, 2020. The conversation was easy and we were all smiles as we sipped our cocktails out on the patio. A couple of bumble bees actually sat on the flowers at our table too (fitting since we met on Bumble)! John was growing his hair and mustache out so he could be Bob Ross for Halloween. Emily thought, "I like his dedication and commitment!" He also won Emily over with his goofiness and sense of humor. John was happy he and Emily had lots of things in common, that she laughed at all his jokes, and that she had a rebel spirit after noticing her tattoo! It wasn't long after the first date that we knew we were meant to bee :)

It was clear from the beginning of our relationship that we wanted the same things in life: To get married, have kids, do some traveling, and have a whole lotta fun! After a few months of talking about getting married, John popped the question! At Thanksgiving 2021, we were spending time with Emily's family at Auntie Tammy and Uncle Nick's house. Secretly, John had been planning (with the encouragement of his mom and sisters) to pop the question on her favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. John was very nervous and decided to ask for (Emily's dad) Rick's blessing before popping the question. An emotional and happy moment with Rick led the way to John making his move. Emily's family gathered for a family photo and John got down on one knee. Cue the happy tears! Emily was very surprised and overjoyed to share this special moment with her family! We quickly shared the good news with John's family and all of our friends. We can't wait to celebrate with all of you!
