Brady actually used to work here so we might be biased but this is an amazing place in Duluth if you are looking to go for a nice dinner date or something adjacent. They have a seasonal menu with really good crafted drinks, local taps, and a great curated wine list. They do have kid friendly items but the place is kind of small and on the spendier side so may not be the most convenient to go with small kids.
Very, very good italian food and drinks.
No frills Mexican/American food while also being so good. This is where Anna pretty much always went with her parents growing up in Duluth and has continued to be a staple with friends in our lives. It is pretty cheap and they have good margaritas.
If you want something out of the way of the usual summer/fall crowds this is it. They almost always have seating but not because it isn't good. This is our place of choice when family come to visit and we don't want to wait but still want good food. It is a locally owned pizza place in Hermantown that is mostly a local spot.
This is a favorite brewery of ours they have really good snacks along with a really good tap list brewed on site.
If you are looking to visit two harbors castle danger brewing is a great place to go even though they don't serve food you can bring food in from the VFW next door or anywhere in town.
Bent paddle is definitely a Duluth staple there are lots of taps on the list and you can order food from anywhere in the Lincoln craft district to eat in. There is also usually a food truck outside.
Of the many good brunch places in Duluth this place is one of the best. If you do decide to go try to get your name on the list online before you head out.
Sarah's table is definitely Anna's favorite place to go for brunch in Duluth. they have a very good typical brunch menu but imagine every dish elevated. If you are a fan of corned beef hash make sure you try theirs (tip from Anna).
if you haven't stopped here on your way to Two Harbors now is your chance. Stop to pick up some crackers and grab some smoked fish from Kendall's in Knife River. We stop here on our trips up the shore to grab some fish for our picnics.
If you're looking for local coffee this is where people downtown usually get their latte's. it is very small but they make very good coffee.
here they have goods from local artisans as well as a really good drink/coffee menu and breakfast/lunch items. If you go there and want to try something different we would recommend the breakfast burrito bowl along with a cardamom latte.
fun park overlooking Duluth with an old watch tower that is lit up at night.
This is the closest park to where we live. there are a few miles of trails along with lots of small waterfalls
Congdon park is one of Duluth's most beautiful in town parks. It is a easy fairly short walk with lots of waterfalls and fresh springs falling from bright red rocks.
Lester park is a very fun park with lots of trails and a nice playground.
Brighton beach is a really fun beach right on the edge of town. It is the best place to skip rocks and get out to stretch your legs. it is also one of the best places to see the sunrise.
Park point beach is a sandy beach off of the harbor in Duluth. this is a fun place for swimming and relaxing as well as playing sand volleyball or visiting some of Duluth's old growth grasses.
This is the headquarters for the lake superior hiking trail. much of the trail is right in or outside Duluth. If you would like to do a little hiking while you are in town this is the best place to get information on the hiking lengths, elevation, and summits. They should have a lot of that information on their website. We have done most of the hikes around so if you are wondering about a specific trail feel free to reach out.
