We are cautiously and optimistically moving forward with our celebrations knowing that our venue offers many options for social distancing with both the ceremony and reception being held outdoors. We have the entire island to ourselves which allows plenty of space for all of our guests to participate at their level of comfort. We respect and support any personal decision regarding attendance on our day. As much as we want everyone to be able to celebrate in person, we do ask that if you are feeling ill or are unvaccinated and have been exposed to COVID-19 within two weeks of the wedding to please stay home and toast us from afar. We are looking forward to celebrating with you!
Masks will not be required but are welcome.
Yes, please! The island is reserved for only wedding guests all weekend so please take advantage of all there is! We would love to see you all enjoying yourselves outside the wedding events!
Yes! You are welcome to bring food and beverages with you onto the island. All rooms have at least a mini fridge, and a few even have small kitchenettes, so feel free to bring food/drink for the weekend. If you opt to bring your own alcoholic beverages, Stout’s kindly asks that you leave them in your cabin. For those staying on the island, breakfast is included. For those staying off island you are more than welcome to join for breakfast, just note that there will be a small fee. We'll be serving hors d’oeuvres, dinner, and late night food on Saturday, and s'mores will be available both nights until the fires go out. Lunch will be available for purchase on Saturday afternoon if you're hungry and will include wraps, chips, fruit, and dessert. The island restaurant will also be open for reservations from 5-8:30pm on Friday night for those wanting to enjoy a meal before the wedding weekend commences! Check out our "schedule" page for restaurant menu and pricing details.
Stout's island has a cash bar open at reasonable times of day, and if it's closed then that means we've opened the bar for you (which we'll do for a period of time on both Friday and Saturday). You are allowed to bring alcohol to consume in your room, but please do not bring it out to public areas; Stout's Island's alcohol license requires that all alcohol consumed in public areas is distributed by them.
See the post in the 'travel' section, but the short answer is, 'On a Boat'! Two ferries (pontoon boats) run on a schedule, and are at our beck and call to make sure our guests can get to the island whenever they'd like!
Stout's Island has a two night minimum, so for the wedding, at least from Friday - Sunday. But Stout's is a hotel open to the public, so from there, you're welcome to stay as long as you'd like!
Stout's island is just that- an island. So bring everything you'll need for a weekend away. We hope you can enjoy all the island has to offer, so make sure you bring a swimsuit and a towel, sunscreen and bug spray, too! And of course, your dancing shoes!
A part of what makes Stout's Island so beautiful is its natural landscape, including hills, stairs and unpaved walking paths. But good news - there are options to make it more accessible! There are a few golf carts that can help guests move around as needed, and while there are no elevators, there are a number of guest rooms on the ground floors of the cabins/ lodges- let us know if you have any concerns and we're happy to help.
Stout's island is just what we wanted- remote. So unplug with us and enjoy a weekend with limited cell reception (you can find it on the island, but its not 100% reliable). WiFi is available in the main lodge, but is not available anywhere else.
Stout's Island does indeed accept credit cards, and cash works too.
We'll have a fantastic photographer all day Saturday, so please refrain from snapping photos during the ceremony- we'll share everything that's captured with you after the wedding.
Yes! A ferry will be running to and from Stout's Island all weekend. A shuttle will also run from the hotel to the ferry pickup spot before the ceremony, and back to the hotel after the reception on Saturday. Please see travel section for full details.
