We met while working at an entertainment center called Main Event. Justin was a manager, Zoe a waitress. They quickly became friends and would often spend what little free time they had discussing Marvel movies by the Icee machines. Justin would often steal Zoe candy from the arcade shop, and play whatever music she wanted on the speakers.

One of Justin and Zoe's first trips together included going to Wisconsin Dells. While there, they went on the Ducks and the Boat Tour, played mini golf, and shopped on the main strip. They took their favorite picture as a couple in a gazebo, outside where they had dinner on their final night in town. Two years later, Justin recreated the trip, down to the very restaurants they dined at. The gazebo at the restaurant was no longer there, prompting Justin to panic all throughout dinner on where he was going to pop the question. After dinner, Justin proposed on the riverwalk.
