It was June 2009, shortly before Pridefest in Chicago, and two fun-loving, big-hearted, and lively men named Dan Wheeler and Peter Gustafson made acquaintance in a bar in Boystown. Immediately, these two knew that this story was only the beginning. Over the last nine years together, Dan and Gus have added many chapters to their story beginning with adopting two cats, Thor and then Sasha, shortly after cohabiting together. They moved into their first condo, the Uptown Gem, in 2014 and have become burgeoning entrepreneurs with their positively reviewed, five star Airbnb suite. Dan and Gus both have a love of travel, and their trips have taken them across the world to Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica, Denmark, Germany, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The most special trip was visiting Sweden, which included seeing family, friends, sightseeing through Stockholm, and experiencing the Archipelago by boat. However, the biggest highlight of the trip was deciding to spend their lives together while walking past the glimmering lights of the Swedish royal palace. Though they may have traveled the world, they’re coming home to tie the knot on October 5, 2019. Friends say they complement each other well and bring out the best in each other. Anyone who has spent time with Dan and Gus know they would do anything for each other – and any of their friends and family.
