FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We're going for garden party elegance — think midi dresses, flowy jumpsuits, dressy separates, and slacks, dress pants, or khakis. Blazers and jackets are welcome but definitely not required. A heads up: the ceremony is outdoors on grass, so we'd suggest leaving the stilettos at home in favor of wedges, block heels, or dressy flats.

Question

What's on the menu?

Answer

Mains: Béarnaise Chicken Roulade (gluten-free available upon request) A French-inspired dish with tender chicken breast rolled around a savory spinach and cheese filling, served with a creamy tarragon Béarnaise sauce. Baked Stuffed Haddock Fresh haddock baked in white wine and topped with a rich lobster sauce. A true taste of Maine. Gnocchi with Cheese Sauce (vegetarian) Pillowy gnocchi tossed in a creamy cheese sauce. Vegetarian Shepherd's Pie (vegetarian, gluten-free) A hearty, comforting classic made without meat. Sides: Jasmine rice and mixed roasted vegetables Salad Tossed green salad with locally sourced vegetables, tomatoes, shredded carrots, pickled red onions, and cucumbers Bread Homemade yeast rolls

Question

Answer

As much as we love our four-legged friends, we kindly ask that pets stay home for this one.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please be at the venue no later than 4pm. Feel free to join us 12pm onward to help set up and explore the grounds!

Question

What's the weather typically like in early August in western Maine?

Answer

August is one of the most beautiful times of year in western Maine! Expect warm, comfortable days with highs typically in the mid-to-upper 70s°F and cooler evenings that can dip into the 50s — perfect sweater weather once the sun goes down. August actually has the most sunshine of any month in Andover, so we're hoping for a gorgeous day. That said, Maine weather can be unpredictable, so we'd suggest keeping an eye on the forecast as the date approaches and layering up for the evening just in case!

Question

RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP by June 20 so I can give a headcount to the caterer. Thanks!

Question

Are phones/cameras allowed during the ceremony?

Answer

We are having an unplugged ceremony! We kindly ask that all phones and personal cameras be put away so that everyone can be fully present with us. We have a professional photographer capturing every moment, so all you need to do is sit back, enjoy, and maybe shed a happy tear or two. We'd love to look out and see your faces, not your screens!
