A MUST do if you can find the time. This is our favorite barbecue joint in the Austin area for the ambience and amazing barbecue. Our favorite order is the brisket burnt ends.

Peter's favorite local pizza place. Amazing Detroit style pizza - we love either the classic 4 cheese or the rocket.
Twin Falls Hike
Our favorite short hike in Austin in the greenbelt. You'll park just off the freeway (there will be other cars) and its a beautiful hike by a trickling creek to a waterfall.
Esther's Follies
If you need something to do Friday night, Esther's Follies has the best improv show in town with a window behind the stage onto 6th street. Note: this would not be a kid friendly activity
South Congress Avenue
South Congress Ave is just south of downtown with a view of the capitol building. This stretch of road has the most fun shopping in Austin from vintage stores to boutiques to boot stores. Be sure to stop by Amy's for a scoop of ice cream or Hopdoddy burger bar for our favorite burgers in town.
Oasis Texas Brewing Company
Beautiful brewery with great food overlooking Lake Travis. This is where you can see arguably the best sunset in all of Austin. (Note: the Oasis restaurant itself, the restaurant attached to the brewery has only decent food, we recommend skipping the lines there and heading up to the brewery instead)
Duchman Family Winery
Our favorite winery in the area for great wines in the hill country.
