Peter had been living in Seattle for 4 years when Tess had just moved to Seattle in 2015. Tess happened to join the co-ed soccer team that Peter was on. Initially there was a connection between the two, but the timing wasn't right. In 2016 Tess began grad school, and fell deep into school and stopped playing soccer. Peter continued to play soccer, and continued on with his life. After a year in grad school Tess realized soccer was needed as an escape from grad school and began playing again. We began hanging out quite a bit, as friends, and got to know each other quite well. It wasn't until the end of summer 2018 that we decided to give their relationship a shot. Many of our soccer teammates were thinking, FINALLY, as it was pretty clear to everyone between our flirting and banter that we were more than just friends. Our relationship was not clear or easy at first, and we both had many hesitations. Two big life events occurred within a few months of each other and we grew very close, and stayed by each others sides. After this, it's history… and we began a life together quite quickly. We travelled, then didn't travel, but survived COVID lockdown, met each others families, built our home together, the kitties (Q and Roxy) got settled with me, and the new home, so we adopted Mina (our pup), and shortly after our sweet Mason made his arrival. And we didn't want to slow down at all so now we are planning a wedding and get to tie the knot! As you all know soccer runs deep in both our lives, and it is very special that we met playing soccer, and have been able to play soccer together. We continue to go to Sounders games and bring Mason to enjoy our love of the sport as well.
