Our meeting story is unconventional and my favorite. We met at a small hole in the wall bar called Doc’s bar and grill in Dade City. It was Halloween weekend and Pete’s 20th birthday (I assumed he was turning 21…I was 22..) After the first night we met and became friends I knew by the end of that weekend I met my future husband. It took Pete a little longer to come around, but he did because he’s clearly not an idiot ;) Everyday has been an adventure and while life has been hard on us, we have persevered and grown together to build a rock solid foundation. We are so excited to start this journey of marriage and have a lifetime of memories to carry on.
The proposal!! Obviously as everyone knows, we had been dating 6 years so I think everyone was waiting for it 😂 Peter bought a ring in November of 2022 and held onto it without me knowing. In June we went on our first real vacation to the Bahamas (Pete’s first time leaving the country and needing a passport) and somehow he managed to smuggle the ring without me knowing and even asking my dad the night before we left… I had 0 clue but I hoped. We were tired the first night and I was a tad grumpy thinking it wasn’t ever going to happen, until I turned around in my bathrobe on our oceanfront balcony to Pete on one knee with the ring in his hand where he asked me to marry him. I cried for 5 minutes without speaking I was literally speechless and can’t even explain the happiness I felt in that moment. I couldn’t have dreamt up a more perfect intimate moment for our proposal just the two of of, no cameras and so authentically us ❤️
