Peter and Monica first met on a cold December night in 2011 at Longhorn Steakhouse while attending college at Florida State University. Monica was a sophomore while Peter was a freshman. They met through a mutual friend, Marvens, who is also Peters best man. Although Peter didn’t make a swift move to get to know Monica, she was definitely on his radar. Peter’s courtship started off slow but that is what attracted Monica to him. Peter was not the typical young and wild college boy when it came to getting to know Monica. They enjoy numerous pizza dates. Their favorite was a large pepperoni pizza from Papa Johns which always costed them $5.99 with their student discount. Peter’s humor, intelligence, and stimulating conversations, even at an age so young and tender, is what sealed the deal for the like that Monica grew for Peter. Monica, who rarely dated, realized early on that Peter was different which made him very special to her. Monica spent her days calling and texting Peter every chance she could get. Monica’s favorite thing to do was attempt to make pancakes for Peter, emphasis on attempt because she failed miserably every single time. Although Peter and Monica friendship was thriving, their time knowing each other halted for unprecedented reasons. Peter and Monica spent close to 365 days no longer hearing from each other. Neither Monica or Peter reached out to each other.
Close to 1 year later, On April of 2013, Monica received a FaceTime call from a number that was not stored in her phone. Hesitant to answer the call, she accepted the FaceTime. When she looked, it was Peter with the nicest smile that Monica remembered, walking across the stage during his Commencement ceremony graduating from FSU with his degree in Biological Science. Monica was so ecstatic to see Peter’s face! Shortly after graduation, close to 3 weeks later, Peter returned back home to Miami where he and Monica reunited. From that very first day of them seeing each other after such a very long time, they have been absolutely inseparable! 2013 until now, they have never spent time apart. Peter felt his love for Monica was so secure that he decided to ask for her hand in marriage on October of 2016 in front of the fountain of love, Trevi Fountain, located in Rome, Italy. Peter and Monica have enjoyed traveling the world together, working together, and their most proud and biggest accomplishment is parenting their lovely, vivacious, smart, and gorgeous daughter, Cassiel Jean. Their interest in each other is still as strong as it was since the very first day they met. This step of solidifying their union amongst their closest family and friends is one that both of them have been looking forward to for some time now. They pray that God will keep them and their love, forever.
