After three days of debating whether or not to reach out, Peter messaged Michalah on Catholic Match. The "Peter Charm" (as Pete likes to call it) was strong that day, and they immediately clicked. Conversation flowed so easily that within 24 hours, they had each other's phone numbers and social media usernames.
Even though their sisters and brothers tried to freak them out by saying that the other might be a catfish (thanks, Hodson siblings) or the next Ted Bundy (thanks, Arnold siblings), Peter and Michalah met halfway between their homes in MD and NJ for mini-golf and (Michalah's personal favorite) ice cream.
Despite their first visit to Longwood Gardens being a bit strenuous (for Michalah, at least - Pete got to be pushed around in a wheelchair), it quickly became one of Pete and Michalah's favorite places. In front of the Italian Water Garden, with rainbows shimmering in the fountains behind them, Pete finally popped the question.
On a beautiful September day, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Upper Marlboro, in front of their family and friends, Peter and Michalah will promise to love, cherish, and honor each other for the rest of their lives.
