Macie and Peter—set up casually by two of our closest friends—figured it would be just another typical date, right? Except this one lasted three hours. Peter left thinking, “Wow… that was such a great date—when’s the next one? It flowed so well.” while Macie telling the girls, “It was really good and it felt like we could have talked all night but… we’ll see what happens.” Then came three weeks of wondering, as Macie left for Ireland for her summer trip. Still, Peter didn’t let the connection fade—keeping in touch every day, excited about what could be next. Then, when Macie made her way back with excitement to see what could come from this, Peter was all too ready. We hit the ground running, getting to know each other, our differences, connections, passions, and slowly realizing all the mutual friends we have had for so long. As time went on, we would often say, "it felt odd that we had never met before. Like we always circled each other's lives but it had to be at this time that we finally met". The idea of spending our lives together just felt "right". We couldn't stop thinking about what our future could be like together. Always laughing, always close, always wondering how the heck we got so lucky that we get to share our love for each other every day. Whether it's binging 'The Chosen', cooking together, playing pickleball, praying together, wondering why Macie won't use the dishwasher, or just having an off day, —we try to always be patient with each other, steady, and willing to be there in the little moments that matter the most.
