This is our favorite spot to grab breakfast before a hike on the Ashokan Rail Trail (see below). When we first came to the Catskills together, we fell in love with their oatmeal moon pies, and haven't stopped ordering them since! (You'll need at least 2 per person!)
A charming restaurant and shop that's great for families. We love going for the pancakes, browsing their mugs, baked goods and saying hello to their cats!
A classic Catskills destination with both indoor and outdoor seating. Also served as a set location in season two of Severance! Very family friendly.
A casual spot for beer, chicken, ribs, and barbecue. Very family friendly, and may have live music!
Our favorite brewery upstate, with incredible mountain views and a fantastic rotating selection of beers. They'll be on tap at our wedding as well!
Confusingly not located in Woodstock. Great spot if you can sit outdoors by their fire pits. Get the fried pickles!
A fantastic dinner spot about 40 minutes from the venue. Silvia has a beautiful open kitchen and wood-fired grill. We recommend starting with oysters and wood fired pita then getting the local mushroom & pasta rags, and chocolate lavender pots de creme (and their absinthe!). Note that it's best suited for adults.
We came here for the first time on Peter's 34th birthday after a VERY long day of travel, and it is everything we could want from a restaurant. Warm, welcoming servers and amazing farm-to-table food — as Peter likes to say, "this is what Chez Panisse aims to be." And please, order the chocolate tart! It's a bit of a drive from the venue, but we promise it's worth it.
A higher-end dining spot, lovely and intimate atmosphere, about twenty minutes from Hotel Lilien. We came here to celebrate the night we got domestic partnered!
A very short hike to a Rushmore-like stone carved monument, with a high reward-to-effort ratio!
This is a 11.2 mile point-to-point trail going from Boiceville to West Hurley. We love it because the start of the trail hugs the Ashokan Reservoir, which provides water to New York City. Make sure to bring bug spray (and binoculars for any bird watchers)!
It's a straight, steep uphill climb on a wide path, but it offers the best views of the Catskills and Hudson Valley that you can find. If you're lucky, the firewatch tower will be open for an even better view!
Great for looking, expensive for buying. Feels like high-end boutique meets museum. It's located in downtown Hudson, which is a great area to explore or find a bite to eat.
