In September 2021, I first met Peter while playing pickleball. My roommate Sam invited Peter and our friend Seth to play against us. Yes, Sam and I beat them the first time we played:). I remember finding Peter very attractive when he first entered the room. He likes to joke that it was because of his Vuori shorts (which is somewhat true), but I was very attracted to his kindness. Peter, Seth, Sam and I became close friends fast. We played card games, pickleball or watched movies almost every night. As we spent more time together, I began to develop feelings for Peter, but unfortunately he wasn’t making any moves. My best friend from high school was hosting a Poker date night at her family’s cabin in Park City and I knew I wanted to ask Peter to be my date. He replied within minutes to my text and I couldn’t have been more excited. We drove up to Park City with a group of friends and ate pizza at Davanza’s on Main Street and then had the best time playing poker and getting to know each other better throughout the night. Peter (finally) asked me out about a month later to ice skating and hot chocolate. We officially began dating in January of 2022, and ever since then I have been the happiest girl ever. Peter and I quickly realized how much we love to play sports and be active together. We enjoy pickleball, tennis, hiking, bike rides, and walks. During our courtship we have traveled to San Diego, Coronado, Mesa, St. George, New York City, and San Francisco. We both can agree that those have been some of our fondest memories and moments that made us fall in love even more. We are looking forward to a life full of love, family, traveling, and of course, pickleball! -Izzy
I wanted to surprise Izzy with a proposal, so I convinced her that we would likely get engaged over the winter break. Coincidentally, both of our families planned to spend Thanksgiving in San Diego, so I knew that would be the perfect time. I asked Izzy to join my family for dinner on the 23rd of November to celebrate my brother-in-law Jack's birthday, while secretly arranging for her entire family to be present at the proposal location in Coronado. I was so excited and nervous at the same time. I couldn't wait to see her reaction. As I waited for Izzy to arrive, I paced back and forth for hours. Finally, she pulled up, and I led her on a walk toward the beach. She was worried we might be late for dinner, but I assured her that I knew where I was going. Once we arrived at the spot I had chosen, I got down on one knee and proposed to her. Words couldn't express the immense love I felt for her, and I knew that life with Izzy by my side would be nothing short of amazing. After Izzy said "yes," we turned around to see all of our family cheering from the beach house balcony. It was such a heartwarming moment. I had never felt more overjoyed, in love, and honestly relieved in my life. I can't wait to have Izzy by my side forever and always. -Peter
