Isle of Palms and Sullivan Island are the two closest beaches to Summerville. Isle of Palms is our favorite and is usually a little less crowded than Sullivan's Island. However, Sullivan's Island has a little downtown with a nice selection of restaurants.
You can walk along the waterfront in downtown Charleston past the Pineapple Fountain and the famous Rainbow Row houses. It's a beautiful walk and really gives you an idea of the history of the city.
