We met through a mutual friend during a karaoke outing. Didn't think much of it at the time other than meeting new friends. Peter turned out to be the son of the neighborhood vegetable vendor where Grandma always took us grocery shopping. Started with hangouts at bubble tea shops, tutoring sessions in the library, and lots of aimless walking...the rest is history (frankly, we can’t recall the details!)

After many years of dating, we always had the goal of traveling to Asia together. Individually, we both traveled there several times. But each time, we crossed paths and missed each other. In 2018, we finally planned our trip to Asia together, Taiwan being the first stop. He dropped down on one knee (for maybe 5 seconds) on top of the Elephant Hike in Taipei, where we had the most gorgeous views of Taipei.
