Park passes and Going to the Sun road tickets can both be purchase at this website https://www.recreation.gov
You can get to some places without the Going to the Sun road ticket like Many Glacier and Two Medicine area with just a park pass. We recommend getting the Going to the Sun road pass also because it runs through the middle of the park with the most beautiful views.
If you are unable to get a Going to the Sun road pass you are able to get onto the road before 6am or after 3 pm when rangers are no longer at the station. Other ways to get on the road is booking a boat tour at either lake McDonald or St Mary’s lake. One last way is to book the red bus tour through the park.
The park pass is valid for 7 days The going to the sun road pass is valid for 3 days. Example: if you buy your park pass for August 6th it is good until august 12th Going to the sun road bought for August 6th will be valid August 6th, 7th and 8th.
There is no cell service when inside Glacier National Park

You can book at boat tour at https://reserve.glacierparkboats.com/index.php Many Glacier-The tour at Many Glacier begins on the shores of Swiftcurrent Lake aboard the Chief Two Guns, cruise across the lake, dock, disembark and walk 0.2 mile (over a steep hill) to the shores of Lake Josephine. You will then board the Morning Eagle and cruise to the head of Lake Josephine where you can either disembark and go on a guided or self-guided hike, or remain on the boat to return back across both lakes to the Many Glacier Hotel. Lake McDonald- Experience tranquil views of Glacier National Park’s west side on this scenic hour-long boat tour. Climb aboard the historic vessel, DeSmet, the flagship vessel in our historic fleet. The DeSmet is one of four vessels in our fleet that holds a spot on the National Register for Historic Vessels! Built in 1930, she will take you along the emerald-hued Lake McDonald while enjoying the majestic view of the Continental Divide. St. Mary- The tour begins at the Rising Sun boat dock, centrally located on St. Mary Lake, approximately 5 miles from Glacier National Park’s East Entrance at the town of St. Mary. Conveniently located off of Going-to-the-Sun Road, this tour offers magnificent views only available from the water. Aboard the Little Chief or Joy II you will cruise close to the famed Wild Goose Island while enjoying epic 360-degree views of the surrounding peaks. Two Medicine- Climb aboard the charming, historic vessel, Sinopah, the oldest wooden boat in our fleet. Relax and enjoy all this “secret” valley offers, take in the scenery while learning about the rich Blackfeet tribal history surrounding the Two Medicine area. Upon docking at the head of the lake you can choose to remain on the boat or disembark and begin a self-guided hike or hike with one of our guides to Twin Falls and catch a later return boat.
You can book a red bus tour at this website https://www.glaciernationalparklodges.com/red-bus-tours The famous Red Buses serve as an ideal way to see and learn more about Glacier National Park. In fact, the vintage 1930s buses are part of the human history and heritage of the park. As much of the park’s scenery is vertically oriented, the roll-back tops are perfect for providing full views of the stunning mountains, and the area’s signature Big Sky. The guides are seasoned park veterans, who are here because they love the park and enjoy sharing the park with visitors.
Bear spray is recommended if you are going to be hiking. You can buy or rent while you are in Montana. You can not bring bear spray on the plane even in a checked bag so it has to be purchased in Montana and left there. There are many stores there that sell or rent bear spray. The lodging we rented for the wedding also rents bear spray for $20 your whole stay.
