Like so many modern love stories, ours began on Hinge. Fate is great, but algorithms are faster. Our first date was August 3, 2023. We hit it off, but right after, Peter left for a two-week trip to Serbia with his mom. Amanda confused and worried, “What if he just said he’s going to SIBERIA and I never hear from him again?” But instead, we ended up talking on Snapchat the entire time he was gone. By the time we had our second date, it already felt like date number ten. Early on, Peter invited Amanda to his grandpa’s birthday with his entire dad’s side of the family. She thought it was just a casual introduction, until he introduced her to his family as his girlfriend. (News to her, but she didn’t mind one bit.) We officially defined the relationship on October 13, 2023 – a Friday the 13th – while watching Friday the 13th at the Avalon Theatre. Because nothing says romance like horror movies and spooky coincidences. In July 2024, Peter moved in, along with his cats, L.T. and Khaleesi, who joined Amanda’s cats, Roz and Frankie. We instantly became a blended cat family… and we’ve been negotiating cat politics ever since. Peter proposed on April 25, 2025, after a “night out on the town” with Amanda’s sisters and brothers-in-law. They were the perfect hype crew, and we celebrated back at home with champagne toasts and plenty of happy tears. We love doing house projects together, however sharing the drill didn’t go well. Both being the youngest children, “taking turns” isn’t exactly our strong suit. The solution? We bought two drills and saved the relationship. When we’re not home with the cats or tackling DIY projects, we’re off adventuring. From Jamaica and the Dominican Republic to small-town Wisconsin road trips. We’re especially excited to celebrate our honeymoon by island hopping in Greece, where we plan to befriend as many local cats as possible. And now, we can’t wait to start the biggest adventure yet. Saying “I do” and celebrating with all of you!
