We first crossed paths at Convention in 2015 (or 2016 lol). I was working production backstage and he was singing in the choir that night. As I was standing facing the stage, he came up and stood next to me, and made small talk. We had stayed connected throughout the years over social media up until I moved back to SoCal in the Summer of 2022. We were then able to become friends, and now we are here!! Yay! ♥

I proposed to Alessa in Carpinteria, CA, a small beach town 20 minutes south of Santa Barbara. "Carp" is her favorite place to go to, and it was only right to have the big day there. We planned the date a month prior and decided to plan together. I brought up different cities we could go to and one of the cities was Carp. She wasn't fond of it at first, however after saying it could be a friends trip (something that was on her bucket list), and also suggesting that we could stay the weekend there, she was sold. Because Alessa knows about Carp, I was able to let her plan the weekend. She planned her proposal! She had no idea what was about to take place. I had visited the week before to scope out the spot and everything turned out better than expected. I proposed to her at a beautiful cliffs preserve that overlooked the Pacific Ocean. There was a trail we took at the preserve, and when we got to the spot, I said, "This is it, it's happening!" She could not believe what was happening. In her words, "You're lying!" is what she told me throughout the proposal while laughing, smiling, and crying all at the same time. She said YES! What surprised her even more was the watch I proposed with, it was the watch her father proposed to her late mother with. Her father, who lives in Oregon, her brother, who lives in Texas, close friends and family were able to attend and congratulated us. What a moment to remember. This day will forever be engraved in our hearts. We are excited and looking forward to our future together!
