At 10,152 feet above sea level, Leadville is the highest incorporated city in North America. Altitude sickness is real and affects many people. This means guests should stay hydrated, watch how much you drink, and if you can, try to arrive in Colorado a few days early to acclimate. If you think you are at risk for experiencing altitude sickness, consult with your doctor before you travel. You can find mini oxygen canisters for purchase (not a bad idea!) at gas stations or drug stores on the way up to the mountains. Please visit the CDC's website for more information about traveling to a high altitude climate. https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/page/travel-to-high-altitudes
June in the mountains can either be warm and sunny or snowy and cold. Please bring warm layers, including a rain jacket.
While we love your children, our wedding will be adults-only, please. A list of recommended babysitters is available.
Mountain Cocktail Chic. Western flair encouraged! Wear what you are comfortable in, bring warm layers (down jacket/rain layer), and perhaps some comfortable shoes for when your feet start to hurt and/or for walking around town. We were originally going to have our wedding on NYE, so sequins are welcome, and highly suggested for late night.
